No Saints is a visual novel focusing on the lives of several characters, whom you will guide through a world of debauchery and moral ambiguity. Told from multiple viewpoints, No Saints is deeply inspired by my love of noir fiction, and, most notably, the works of writers like Bret Easton Ellis and Chuck Palahniuk.

The choices you make in this story will shape these characters... And some of the choices you make may not have the desired outcomes you thought they might. The characters in No Saints all have backstories and lives before we meet them in the game. They all have their problems that they're trying to figure out and some of that will unfold over the course of the story.

Some of these characters won't make it to the end of the story... And the ones who do won't be the same people they were when they started.

In this world, not every choice is as simple as black and white, the good guys/gals don't always win, and NO ONE gets out squeaky clean...

Was there any new content in this update or just rework/fixes? Cause my last save is still the furthest part in the story before the "Next time" end

(1 edit) (+1)

Hi Tory.  Nothing new, just reworked animations. I mean, the animations are all new, that is.  Still working on part 2 of chapter 7, which I'm hoping to have done around... March, possibly. But yeah, the "Next Time" is a teaser for part 2.

Thank you and as always, keep up the fantastic work, you're doing a great job with the game!

Heya Dynamite/Saint, any word on when you will be dropping the next update??

Hi Tory. Sorry, haven't checked this for a bit. Yes, it will be. I suffered a pretty significant setback on the project, as the mother board on my computer bit the dust. Then, 3 months later, the SSD I was using to store my files crapped out as well, so between both those things, I had to kind of go back on both projects and figure out what I had still and what I had to replace. Luckily, most of the images were saved (but a couple scenes had to be redone).  Unfortunately, I lost quite a bit of stuff on the renpy side, so I've been working to get that restored. It's really just been a bit of a slog. But, I'm working through it.

thrilled for more ellen!

Is this a dead game?

No, it isn't,   it just   taking a   bit longer   than   normal,   as   this   chapter   is   very   dense, as   far   as   the   amount   of   content   I'm   putting   in.   But   it   is    still   in   development and   getting   closer   everyday.

That is great to hear because I really enjoyed this game! I appreciate the speedy reply, thank you.

Well thank you! Nice to hear from someone who enjoys the game :)   Be sure   to try multipule playthroughs, as there are a lot of different paths. And the new update should be out pretty soon. Have some coding to do on it and sound, but the vast majority of the rendering/animation is done. Just have to put it all together now.

Ellen is one of my favorite AVN characters. Would love to know what modeling software you used.

Hey thanks! Glad you like the VN and my character, Ellen. I tried to make her look as unique as possible. The modeling software I use is Daz3D.

you're welcome! looking forward to seeing more of her if there's a chapter 7.

Yep, chapter 7 is coming. Just got finished working on the animations for the chapter. After that, I'm finishing up the music/sounds and one more path, then it's time to play test. It's such a big chapter in terms of story and paths, that I had to split it into two halves. 436 renders, I think... Doing the math, it took at least double that number to get the actual renders in the game, so in reality, I had to render around a 1000 images to get the ones you'll see in the game.  Just a downfall with having so many different characters in this chapter, all on screen at once. Makes it impossible to render them all in a single shot. Unfortunately, Ellen will not be in the first half, but I've got some interesting things planned for her and her friends in the second half.  Stay tuned!

Hmm... purchased this on a whim so I guess I will give a short review based upon my experience thus far since no one else has commented as of yet.

Visually, the game looks good.  I like the renders and the characters all look visually distinct from one another.  There are no animations that I can recall but there are some sporadic audio clips so that's a plus.  The story is fine as far as I can tell (having only played through the first three chapters) and it introduces us to the different characters.  There does not seem to be a main protagonist so far as each chapter has focused on jumping back and forth between characters.

The biggest negative for me atm is the amount of content... Granted, I have only played through the first half of what is currently available (3 of 6 chapters) but each chapter was VERY short.  Literally 10 minutes, then 9 minutes, and then maybe 5 or 6 for chapter 3?  And I read at a normal pace, hardly a speed reader lol.  Given the current price point (very affordable) I guess the limited amount of content is fine but still... I just wished it was longer.  When I see multiple chapters I dont expect to be able to finish them so quickly.

Anyways, if I have to give the game a score... I would give it maybe a 6.5 out of 10 based on the three chapters I have played thus far.  Not bad, not great, less points for limited content, more points for *potential* as it is a work in progress.  Here is looking towards further updates!  Cheers.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed what you've played so far. 6.5... I'll take it lol. Yeah, those first few chapters were short, but I kinda wanted to keep them that way, to introduce different characters and not have it feel like too much of an overload. Chapters 4-6 do get longer. One of the things I really wanted to do with this VN was give the player a lot of different paths to explore. As of now, I believe there are about 16 different paths you could be on, and after chapter 6, those all doubled based on a couple choices at the end of the chapter. Hopefully, I've made something where 2 different people won't have the exact same playthrough. So yeah, replayability was a huge thing for me, as some of my fave VNs (GGGB, Our Red String, Leap of Faith) all have that.

Glad you liked the renders. There are a few crude animations at the beginning of the VN, and I've added more to the other chapters as well. And I've learned how to do them a bit better now, so yeah, keep an eye out for those (Try not to click too fast, as you could miss them and go right through to the next render). And I think the rendering has gotten quite a bit better, as I've learned a lot about Daz and how it works... shadows, light, effects etc.

Chapter 7 is currently in development now (slower than I wanted, but with my work schedule, it kind of is what it is).  I've gotten almost all of the writing finalized for all 16 different paths (there were a couple parts I had to go back over and clean up due to a couple errors) and the rendering has begun, and I'm about 50 in (The render total for this should be 3-4 times that many once all is said and done).

Thanks for your reply!  I definitely plan on finishing the remaining chapters.  Your game has a solid foundation and there is a lot of potential here.  Keep up the good work!
